Can you get games on you Wii via SD card?

I was wondering, is it possible that when i connect my SD card to the computer, could i download Wii games/applications/channels from websites, get them on my SD card, put it in my Wii and then use them? I have no internet on my Wii, so I was asking. Thanks.

Yes it is, But you have to hack it, to get homebrew channel. Use the twilight hack (it voids your warrenty, and you cant do it if you have system version 4.0). You then use wad manager and you can download wad files to install channels, VC games, and wiiware games on your wii. If you have a large SD card (as in like 5gigs), you can download a full game on there and use a backup launcher to run it

The legality of this is questionable, though… if you don't want to hack your wii, then I don't think there is a way

No, this is not possible. The games (Virtual Console, WiiWare) and channels you download to your Wii have specific codes embeded in them that make them work only on your Wii, and no one else's. I'm sure it's possible with hacking, but without going through all that trouble and any risks hacking can give, then no, it's not possible.
This is Nintendo's way of preventing piracy for their VC and WiiWare titles.

This means downloading them from the internet onto an SD card, and then connecting the SD card to your Wii will more than likely NOT work.
